Hillside Development Standards
Within the City of Chilliwack, hillside areas are defined as all lands with slopes of 20 percent or more. When planning development in these areas, there are several unique challenges not experienced in valley floor areas, including: visual, functional, environmental, geotechnical and financial challenges.
The Hillside Development Standards Policy has been developed in response to these challenges. The attached policy replaces the 2008 Hillside Development Guidlines.
