| Description: 7 pm – 8:30 pm 2017 is the centenary of Vimy Ridge, the most significant Canadian battle of the First World War and a defining moment in our nation’s history. Travel with us to the Canadian battlefields, cemeteries and memorials of Normandy and Flanders. More than a travelogue, this presentation uses slides and personal narratives to explore the Normandy beaches and the Vimy memorial, as well as additional interesting sites and remarkable heroic individuals of both world wars. Bruce Bennewith, of Rainbow Country Travel and Tours, is a local travel consultant with extensive experience and a particular interest in historic destinations. |
