Description: Join us at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve for an exciting mix of visual arts and outdoor activities in our Summer Camps! Our experienced instructors have a variety of programming prepared to offer children a unique opportunity to connect with the outdoors and engage with their creative sides! Campers in the nature programs will spend their sessions outside guided by our experienced and knowledgeable environmental educators, connecting to the unique wildlife habitats of the reserve and exploring pond life, wetland, and forest ecosystems. Our art teacher John LeFlock will guide the campers through a variety of creative activities in an exploration of artistic techniques - working with multiple mediums to showcase the importance of art, especially when connecting with nature. Our camp programs are suitable for ages 5 to 12. *Please note - campers must have completed kindergarten to participate in our camps. This is a non negotiable requirement for our camps, as per provincial regulations.* Register for one of our half-day programs (available in either art, nature, or a combination of both) or for one of our full-day sessions for a more immersive experience! This presentation by Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary will allow people of all ages to see avian friends and hear how they were rescued. Bring your curiosity and questions to learn more about these amazing birds. Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a non-profit rescue and protection for parrots and other birds. They provide education on bird care and have been in operation for 25 years. This program is for all ages.

Description: Geneskool® Invites Young Scientists to a Summer of Science at UFV for the first time! Chilliwack, BC – Young scientists, get ready for a thrilling summer experience with Geneskool! From July 7th - 11th, the University of the Fraser Valley, will host Geneskool’s exciting Summer Science Program. This hands-on, week-long event promises to immerse students in the fascinating fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, and genomics. Event Details: Dates: July 7th - 11th, 2025 Time: Daily from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM Location: University of the Fraser Valley, Chilliwack Campus Eligibility: Students entering grades 9-12 in September 2025 Cost: $350 Capacity: 20 students Financial Support: Available for students in need and BIPOC students (application required) Detailed schedule of activities can be found within the registration platform. Students will work with cutting-edge techniques such as fibre analysis, blood typing, microbiology, and microscopy, making this a unique educational experience. The program is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 in the fall of 2025. With a registration fee of $350, students will gain invaluable hands-on lab experience and develop their scientific reasoning skills. The program is limited to 20 students, ensuring an intimate and focused learning environment. Geneskool is also committed to inclusivity, offering financial support for students in need, including spaces reserved for BIPOC students. Interested participants can apply for these spots during the registration process. **NOTE** Participants must arrange transportation to and from the campus daily, as accommodations are not provided.
