A Resident’s Guide
Residents can help protect our valuable groundwater by following the guidelines listed in this section.
Fertilizer Use
Fertilizer can cause problems for our groundwater. Some simple tips can help keep our water safe.
Household Hazardous Wastes
Never dispose of potentially hazardous products down sinks, toilets, storm drains, or in rivers and streams. Seek alternate products that are either less hazardous or non-hazardous.
Protect Our Drinking Water
For information on water conservation practices, read the City's "Protect Our Drinking Water! - A Water Conservation Guide", also located at City Hall.
Protect our Storm Drains
Storm drains, the square metal grates located at the sides of curbs or streets, often empty rainwater and runoff directly into our groundwater, lakes or rivers.
