Community Parks
This 5 hectare (12.28 acre) park (a former gravel pit) has been part of Chilliwack’s park inventory since 1971. The 655 metre outer looping trail allows the visitors to take in the wonderful views and vistas as they participate in outdoor activities.
In the past, the pond was stocked with trout for new and seasoned anglers. Many grandfathers in Chilliwack used this pond to help them teach their grandchildren to fish.
The pond was also a notable local swimming hole. Usage of the park would explode on hot summer evenings and weekends.
Over the decades a process called eutrophication has changed the chemistry of the pond, making undesirable for fish and unsuitable for swimming.
Today this community park offers playgrounds, picnic tables, the pond walk and washrooms.
Sardis Park is home to the Eco Market which is open from 4pm to 8pm every Wednesday night from May until October.

Adopt a Park/ Adopt a Trail
The City of Chilliwack has partnered with a number of local organizations and non-profit groups to develop an Adopt-a-Park and Adopt-a-Trail program. Groups volunteer their time to cleanup parks and trails in Chilliwack, to keep the community looking its best!
