The Seniors Connect Café occurs every first and third Thursday of each month at the IHOP Restaurant in Chilliwack and every second and fourth Thursday at the Homer Restaurant. Drop in between 10:00am and 12:00pm on these dates for a free cup of coffee or tea and for a conversation. There is a facilitator present at each event. There is also a resource person present to answer any questions you may have about community and health care resources. All older adults are welcome! No membership needed and no cost attached!

You're invited to the 23rd Annual Plant Sale and Garden Party! Join us from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for food, entertainment and family activities. Local nurseries and artisans will be selling their wares.

It's the main annual fundraiser for the Gwynne Vaughan Park Society. Proceeds go towards maintaining the grounds, heritage home and seniors' allotment gardens.

10:30 am – 12 pm Cast and identify wildlife tracks in this fun and educational session! By creating replicas in plaster casting, children will become familiar with the tracks of various wild animals native to our area. Registration required, please call or drop by the Chilliwack Library to sign up. While children of all ages are welcome to attend, those under the age of 10 will need to be accompanied by an adult able to assist.

2 pm – 3 pm Join the Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society on the first Wednesday of every month. This volunteer organization supports the library through advocacy, fundraising and assistance with various projects and programs. New friends are always welcome!

All "uked" up and no place to jam? All levels of experience are welcome at our fun and relaxed ukulele circle. This program is in partnership with the Chilliwack Academy of Music. Space is limited. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

7 pm – 8 pm This program will cover topics including: understanding where toxins come from, how they affect us, and simple solutions to improve health. Robin Henshall, Holistic health Coach and Wellness Educator will uncover 3 key components to overcoming sickness and degenerative disease without dieting. Robin will discuss ways to improve your health with a change in mindset and offer examples of non-toxic options that are both affordable and effective. Learn to thrive, not just survive!

The Chilliwack Visual Artists and the Reach Gallery Museum are pleased to present the Fraser Valley Regional Biennale in the O’Connor Group Art Gallery located in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre located at 9201 Corbould Street in Chilliwack. The Biennale opens on June 6 and runs until June 29. The Fraser Valley Regional Biennale is a dynamic, collective representation of exceptional artwork produced by artists in the Fraser Valley region over the past two years. Featured artists are David Evans, Christopher Friesen, Paula Funk, Joshua Hale, Fiona Howarth, Sharon Huget, Krista Kilvert, Linda Klippenstein, Dan LeFebvre, Karlie Norrish McChesney, Barb Pearson, Patricia Peters, Veronica Plewman, Rosa Quintana Lillo, Bob St. Cyr, Mandeep Wirk, Qahraman Yousif. Admission is free.

Come learn about exciting volunteering positions that are opening up for you! These volunteering positions are for any adult from 19 years to 100 years old! You will be required to attend 18 hours of educational workshops. The workshops are free!

These workshops will be provided by the Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners Society.

The Chilliwack Museum & Archives is embarking on an awareness and engagement campaign within our community! As part of this initiative we are hosting our first ever annual Hops & Heritage Friendraiser and we hope to gain your support! 10 am – 12 pm Geocaching is a free, real-world outdoor treasure hunt! Kathleen Brophy will lead children in this popular pastime looking for a hidden treasure, or cache, using clues and global positioning system (GPS) coordinates. This event will take place both inside the library and outside in the surrounding park area. Registration required, please call or drop by the Chilliwack Library to sign up. We are offering a community education on Alternative Transportation on Wednesday, June 19th, 1:30-3:30 pm at Evergreen Hall, Slesse room. A representative from First Transit Canada will come and talk about Handi-Dart, Taxi Savers, Route 66 and the City Bus. They will explain who qualifies and how you would gain access to each service. 7 pm – 8 pm David Chernushenko is a filmmaker, educator, former city councillor and now author of Burning Souls, a “climate breakdown thriller." Burning Souls is a story of friendship and courage in a time of ecological and social collapse. As dire as the future of humanity may look, in real life and in this work of fiction, Burning Souls offers plenty to lift the reader, even as things go horribly wrong. So will author David Chernushenko. Books will be available to purchase following the presentation.

The CSO is pleased to present A Notable Summer’s Evening Dinner Concert featuring the enchanting music of Maria Moularas and consummate entertainer, Ken Lavigne and his trio. There will be a silent auction during the evening and on that “note” we would like to acknowledge the generous support of numerous local businesses for their contributions to this evening’s auction. We are hoping to raise $15,000 in the course of the evening. Your attendance at A Noteable Summer’s Evening serves to support the cause of live music and culture in the Fraser Valley and enables the CSO to perform innovate and ever-grander shows.
