The Chilliwack Community band are performing for the Battle of Britain Ceremonies on SEPT 22nd at 1:00pm at the Chilliwack Memorial behind the MUSEUM.

The Chilliwack Songs of Praise Orchestra(CSOPO) is a group of enthusiastic musicians including full woodwind and string sections. The CSOPO usually performs at 6 different venues in a season. The format always includes numerous Sing Along favourites. Upcoming is a special at St. Paul's Church on School Street November 3, at 3:30 pm. Next is a Christmas special at the Alliance Church on Young Road. Hope to see you there.

Over the course of eight weeks at the CPG comedy improv workshop, you will learn the fundamentals that make improvisation such a unique and exciting format. Not only will you spend eight weeks laughing, improv also offers a host of side benefits: - improve auditioning skills - build confidence on stage - develop active listening and communication - boost teamwork and collaboration skills - lose the fear of failure.

With literally hundreds of exercises and improv games to draw from, Dan will cater the workshop to your skill level, so all are welcome.

An enriching experience with a combination of art and nature education! Ages 5 – 14, divided into a younger group and an older group. Each group will have a hands-on Wildlife Art class and an Environmental Science class based outdoors, with a short break between classes. Runs from 9:30-12:30 pm. No class on Family Day (Feb.17th). Generation Health is a FREE 10-week healthy lifestyle program for children and their families. We will be meeting once a week as of February 3rd, 2020 at the Chilliwack YMCA. This program covers various topics related to healthy living such as healthy eating, physical activity, goal setting, body image, self-esteem and more! Vantage Points exhibit with artists Pierre Tremblay and Sandra Wiens. VANTAGE POINTS exhibit will be open from February 12 to March 21, 2020 at the O’Connor Group Art Gallery is located in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre at 9201 Corbould St., Chilliwack. Painters Pierre Tremblay and Sandra Wiens present two different approaches to traditional subjects. Tremblay focuses on an inventive application of paint using photos of the figure in landscape as a starting point. Wiens explores how much she can pull apart and pile on top of a landscape image before it disintegrates into chaos. Opening reception is on February 15, 1-3pm. Regular hours are Wed-Sat from 12-5 pm. Learn the power of nurturing touch and communication with your baby. Through massage, your baby may benefit from interaction, stimulation, relaxation and relief. This engaging juvenile sturgeon conservation workshop provides participants with hands-on experience learning and discovering more about conservation concerns related to North America’s largest freshwater species, white sturgeon. During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to catch, land, tag and release these fish in partnership with the Fraser Valley Angling Guides Association. This unique and engaging conservation workshop aims to connect the general public to sturgeon conservation and the Heart of the Fraser in an exciting, educational and engaging manner. Time: 7:00 p.m. JOIN OUR TEAM! Spirit Abreast Dragon Boat Team is a group of women breast cancer survivors and supporters from the Fraser Valley who paddle for fitness, friendship and fun. We paddle on Cultus Lake and compete in regional regattas from April to September. We are currently recruiting for the 2020 paddling season. No experience is needed and we provide equipment and certified coaching. Our goal is active, healthy living, and raising awareness about breast cancer.

Students aged 9 to 18 are invited to come and create designs out of Perler beads. Participants will design their creations and then melt them together to make magnets or keychains! Even if you don't think you’re artistic, Perler bead crafts are foolproof and fun!

Kids will get the opportunity to use common household ingredients to create their own slime. Skills used will include reading recipes, measuring, mixing colors and using trial and error to make a colourful, slimy substance that they can bring home! For children in Grades K to 6. Experience the thrill of virtual reality (VR) at the library! Put on the HTC VIVE goggles and let the real word wash away. VR is an immersive computer-generated, three-dimensional interactive environment. Wearing the HTC VIVE goggles, headphones and holding motion controllers, participants will be able to move freely around a 10x10 space and try out a mix of virtual games as well as educational experiences.

Please note participants must arrive 15 minutes prior to their registered timeslot to get set up for play. Timeslots may not be guaranteed for those who arrive late. This program is intended for those ages 10+ or 48” + tall. Participants must read and sign a waiver. Parents/guardians must sign the waiver for minors. Participants play at their own risk. The Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners Society (CNHPS) is offering six 3-hour FREE educational workshops for those interested in volunteering in their neighbourhoods.

You may take the workshops without committing to volunteering. Everyone welcome!

Children get a full day camp with a mix of art and environmental education. Our art teacher will explore different artistic techniques, working with multiple mediums to showcase the importance of art in different fields of work. For the nature portion, kids will be outside connecting to the unique wildlife habitats of the reserve, including pond life, and wetland and forest ecosystems. Children will stay in one group that spans ages 5 to 13 and will enjoy artistic mentoring and the joys of playing and learning outside with knowledgeable environmental educators. There will be two short snack breaks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) and a lunch break mid-day. Please note we are a nut-free zone.
