The Seniors Connect Café occurs the first and third Thursday of each month at Homer Restaurant (46090 Yale Road) and every second and fourth Thursday at Royal Canadian Legion Vedder Golden 280 (5661 Vedder Road). Drop in between 10:00am and 12:00pm on these dates for a free cup of coffee or tea and for a conversation. There is a facilitator present at each event. There is also a resource person present to answer any questions you may have about community and health care resources. All older adults are welcome! No membership needed and no cost attached!

The Chilliwack Community band are performing for the Battle of Britain Ceremonies on SEPT 22nd at 1:00pm at the Chilliwack Memorial behind the MUSEUM.

Generation Health is a FREE 10-week healthy lifestyle program for children and their families. We will be meeting weekly (Monday evenings) at the Chilliwack YMCA as of Sept 30th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. During the first hour of the program, we have a group facilitator that educates children and parents about various topics related to healthy living such as: healthy eating, active living, goal setting, healthy body image and self esteem, etc. During the second hour, the children have time for play-based exercise in the gym with a physical activity specialist while the parents cover additional topics with the group facilitator around positive family mealtimes and physical activity experiences, cooking and playing together, and positive parenting. Families who participate in this program will receive a FREE 6 month membership to YMCA Chilliwack. The Chilliwack Songs of Praise Orchestra(CSOPO) is a group of enthusiastic musicians including full woodwind and string sections. The CSOPO usually performs at 6 different venues in a season. The format always includes numerous Sing Along favourites. Upcoming is a special at St. Paul's Church on School Street November 3, at 3:30 pm. Next is a Christmas special at the Alliance Church on Young Road. Hope to see you there.

Registration required. Decorate a small gingerbread house to take home. Suitable for all ages (children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult). There will be three sessions. (2:00 – 2:30 pm, 2:45- 3:15 pm, 3:30- 4:00 pm). Maximum 10 people per session not including adults if accompanying children under 5. Register at the Yarrow Library, 604-823-4664.

Paint your own watercolor Christmas card and create a uniquely personal expression of good will for family and friends! Your one-of-a-kind creation will be suitable for printing multiple copies. For 18+. Registration is required

Come and enjoy Christmas shopping with over 250 vendors, pictures with Santa. Bring food donations for the local food bank for the opportunity to win vendor gifts.

On December 6, we observe the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day was established by the Parliament of Canada in 1991 to mark the anniversary of the 1989 murders of 14 women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal who were killed because of their gender. Ann Davis Transition Society invites you to participate in the commemoration of the victims of the Montréal Massacre on December 6 at 5:00 PM at Five Corners in Chilliwack. We were recognized by CBC last year as the only organization in BC who has held a vigil every year. We have partnered the past three years with the University of the Fraser Valley and will again this year.

The Farm Store in Yarrow would like to invite you to the 5th Annual Eats and Treats Christmas Market. Share in the holiday spirit and enjoy some of our favorite holiday treats specially prepared by our vendors and the staff at the Farm Store in Yarrow. Along with tasty eats, we will be treated to live music, food trucks, local artisans, and bakers to help you with your Christmas lists! We are very pleased to announce that this event is free for vendors and guests. In lieu of an entry fee, we will be collecting donations for the local Food Bank.

While shredding private documents to prevent identity theft, you can also help fill local food bank shelves. Please bring cash donations and/or non-perishable food items. (Donations are not required to participate - limit of 10 boxes of shredding material per resident.)

All ages are welcome to join staff for some Christmas cheer. Bring a friend and enjoy some hot apple cider and festive treats. The popular Plinko board will be available again to play and win a small prize while supplies last.

10:30 am – 7:30 pm

Families with young children are invited to a special Christmas storytime. Come enjoy festive stories, songs, and treats. Santa Green Screen Photos will be taken after storytime and emailed to families.

10:30 am – 11:30 am

Celebrate the season at the Chilliwack Library! Enjoy hot apple cider, holiday goodies and craftmaking while renowned musician Jack Kopstein entertains young and old with holiday favourites.

3 pm- 4 pm
