The Seniors Connect Café occurs the first and third Thursday of each month at Homer Restaurant (46090 Yale Road) and every second and fourth Thursday at Royal Canadian Legion Vedder Golden 280 (5661 Vedder Road). Drop in between 10:00am and 12:00pm on these dates for a free cup of coffee or tea and for a conversation. There is a facilitator present at each event. There is also a resource person present to answer any questions you may have about community and health care resources. All older adults are welcome! No membership needed and no cost attached!

Notes:

This is a recurring event on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Royal Canadian Legion Vedder Golden 280 and on each first and third Thursday at Homer Restaurant.

Generation Health is a FREE 10-week healthy lifestyle program for children and their families. We will be meeting weekly (Monday evenings) at the Chilliwack YMCA as of Sept 30th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. During the first hour of the program, we have a group facilitator that educates children and parents about various topics related to healthy living such as: healthy eating, active living, goal setting, healthy body image and self esteem, etc. During the second hour, the children have time for play-based exercise in the gym with a physical activity specialist while the parents cover additional topics with the group facilitator around positive family mealtimes and physical activity experiences, cooking and playing together, and positive parenting. Families who participate in this program will receive a FREE 6 month membership to YMCA Chilliwack. The Chilliwack Songs of Praise Orchestra(CSOPO) is a group of enthusiastic musicians including full woodwind and string sections. The CSOPO usually performs at 6 different venues in a season. On December 6, we observe the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This day was established by the Parliament of Canada in 1991 to mark the anniversary of the 1989 murders of 14 women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal who were killed because of their gender. Ann Davis Transition Society invites you to participate in the commemoration of the victims of the Montréal Massacre on December 6 at 5:00 PM at Five Corners in Chilliwack. We were recognized by CBC last year as the only organization in BC who has held a vigil every year. We have partnered the past three years with the University of the Fraser Valley and will again this year.
