Work:
The City of Chilliwack is seeking Expressions of Interest to design and construct the replacement of two (2) aging bridge structures crossing Hope Slough at Gillanders & McLeod Road, with 5890 mm span x 3710 mm rise, Multi-Plate Pipe Arch culverts. Work to include:
- Removal of existing (1950's) bridges and supporting wood piles;
- Excavation of stream channel and installation of steel Multi-Plate culverts;
- Installation of instream compensatory fish habitat;
- Backfilling, retaining walls and rehabilitation of road and utilities.
The City of Chilliwack, through Scott Resource Services, has submitted an Environmental Assessment Document to Transport Canada and Fisheries and Oceans and anticipates agency approval of the work by mid March 2006.
the objective of the Project is to make the necessary improvements to allow improved roadway capacity, provide a 100-year service life and improve fish habitat.
