Project Details
The project will ensure that the City’s wastewater treatment plant outfall can continue to operate effectively and that the City is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Work will occur in a channel of the Fraser River near Shxwhá:y Village.
Concrete armoring will be replaced with new armoring. This will help protect the underground pipe from erosion before the next freshet in 2026. The work will require building a temporary berm to allow equipment to remove the existing concrete armoring from the underground outfall pipe in the side channel.
Environmental monitoring will occur during the project to protect fish and other habitat.
