Portage Avenue Sidewalk
A new 220m sidewalk will be built on the south side of Portage Avenue from Williams Street to Woodbine Street. It will connect Williams Street, Hazel Street, Woodbine Street, Chilliwack Secondary School and Kinsman Park, linking with the existing sidewalk to create a continuous sidewalk from Williams Street to Woodbine Street.
Completed Works
Chilliwack River Road Sidewalk Project
The Chilliwack River Road sidewalk is now complete.The new sidewalk connects residents to Promontory Road, providing access to transit, schools, and shopping.
Tzeachten First Nation, in partnership with the City of Chilliwack, made improvements along Chilliwack River Road, from Iron Horse Development Road to the north property line of 6185 Chilliwack River Road. Located along the west side of Chilliwack River Road, this project included:
- A new 1.8m wide concrete sidewalk with driveway letdowns, curb, and gutter.
- Surface water drainage improvements.
- Repaved 1.5m bike lane with pavement markings.
