In Chilliwack, residential garbage, compostables and recycling from single-family homes and duplexes are collected by the City of Chilliwack’s Curbside collection program. All garbage collected through the Curbside program is disposed of at the Bailey Sanitary Landfill. The City is seeking to better understand the current composition of the garbage stream of the Curbside collection program.
This study will establish an understanding of the current composition of garbage from the City’s Curbside collection program. This information will be compared to previous Curbside garbage audits to gauge progress made with the City’s diversion efforts, will identify for the City major avenues for further waste diversion and reduction, and allow for comparison with future audits for on-going performance monitoring. |
