The City of Chilliwack is seeking Expressions of Interest from Design-Build Proponents to design and construct the following works:

(1) Watson Road at Vedder Road Intersection

Road widening at the S.W. corner of Watson/Vedder (approximately 120m west & 120m south) to provide improved lane widths and turning movements.  Work to include all removals, base, paving, concrete curb & sidewalks, storm drainage, sanitary sewer extension, street lighting, signalization, signage, pavement markings and landscape restoration.  (Completion by Oct 15, 2003)

(2) Promontory Road from Teskey Way to Extrom Road

Phase I (Completion by Nov 15, 2003) - Correct steep gradient by lowering road section by up to 3m between approx 60m and 160m south of Sylvan Drive.  Includes all utility base and paving.

Phase II (Completion by Sept 15, 2003) - Upgrade Promontory Road between Teskey Way and Extrom to an Urban standard.  Work to include all removals, base, paving, concrete curb & sidewalks, storm drainage, street lighting, signage, pavement markings and landscape restoration.

Sealed Expressions of Interest (EI) from complete teams clearly marked with the Proponent's name, address and "Vedder Road @ Watson Road / Promontory Road, Teskey to Extrom" shall be received by the undersigned at the office of the City of Chilliwack not later than 3:00 p.m., local time, "June 3, 2003" and used to 'short list' the Proponents.  Proponent teams or individuals not possessing the complete expertise, ie., both design and construction, will not be considered.  A maximum of three (3) teams will be invited to submit detailed Proposals.

RFEI documents may be obtained from the City's Main Reception Desk or may be downloaded from www.chilliwack.com/bids on or after "May 13, 2003".  An information meeting will be held at the offices of the City of Chilliwack at "10:00 a.m. on May 21, 2003".
