Information on Parks & Trails - Updated December 29, 2025

Crews continue to clean up debris, assess impacts from heavy rainfall and windstorms, and restore roads. Some works require provincial approvals, such as the cleanup of debris under the Keith Wilson bridge, which is now complete. 

River levels continue to drop, and the BC River Forecast Centre has removed all advisories for the Chilliwack River and tributaries. Watch Environment Canada for weather updates. Please continue to use caution around fast-moving rivers, creeks and culverts. No additional weather-related updates are anticipated at this time.

Crews are assessing conditions in our parks and trails and will continue to clean up and restore where needed. They have been busy with repairs on Rotary Trail, so effective Monday, December 29, the following areas are open:

  • Rotary Trail from Vedder Park to the Peach Creek Bridge, including the Peach Creek Trail loop
  • Rotary Trail from Lickman Road to Hopedale Road
  • Lickman Parking lot
  • Hopedale Parking lot
  • Crossing Park
  • The dyke section from Keith Wilson Bridge (west side) to the Yarrow Community Centre

Other Trail Updates (Outside the Greenway)

The following trail systems were also affected by the storm and have the following status:

Qoqó:lem Trail

Lower section is open (Up to the rail grade)
From the rail grade up is closed due to slide concerns
Repairs scheduled for the New Year

Tempus Ridge Trail

Closed due to landslide
Repairs planned for the New Year

Little Mountain Loop

City crews are repairing rutting and drainage
Trail is open

Old Wagon Trail (Yarrow)

Repairs underway
Trail is open
