Point in Time Count
Point in Time Count
There are many pathways into homelessness, each shaped by individual experiences and systemic challenges.
In 2024, the City of Chilliwack conducted a federally mandated Point-in-Time (PiT) Count as part of its designation under the Reaching Home program. This two-day initiative included a voluntary survey followed by physical enumeration to provide a comprehensive snapshot of homelessness in the community. A total of 367 individuals completed the survey, and 715 were enumerated. Respondents identified key factors contributing to their loss of housing, including inadequate income, substance use, and health challenges.
Below is the full report outlining the 2024 PiT Count results.
