The closed areas still have repairs ongoing and will reopen once the work is complete and conditions are confirmed safe. Please respect all barricades and signage in these areas, as they are there to keep everyone safe and support the ongoing necessary repair work that is required so the areas can be reopened as soon as possible.

  • Browne Creek Wetlands - Crossing Park to Bergman Road

Still Closed (Repairs Ongoing):

Update - January 2, 2026

Crews continue to clean up debris and repairs are ongoing. There are no new sections of the Vedder Greenway open at this time. Please respect any closure signs and barriers; they are in place for your safety.

Street Creek Trail Bridge

The Street Creek Trail Bridge in Yarrow sustained structural damage during the flooding, so it remains closed, while staff actively monitor the situation. Once surrounding trails are fully repaired and reopened, a temporary detour route will be identified, as full repair to the bridge is anticipated for the summer/fall of 2026, due to the Provincial in-stream work regulations.

Little Mountain Loop

Now fully open and in good condition. All repairs are complete.

Update - December 29, 2025

Crews continue to clean up debris, assess impacts from heavy rainfall and windstorms, and restore roads. Some works require provincial approvals, such as the cleanup of debris under the Keith Wilson bridge, which is now complete.

River levels continue to drop, and the BC River Forecast Centre has removed all advisories for the Chilliwack River and tributaries. Watch Environment Canada for weather updates. Please continue to use caution around fast-moving rivers, creeks and culverts. No additional weather-related updates are anticipated at this time.

Crews are assessing conditions in our parks and trails and will continue to clean up and restore where needed. They have been busy with repairs on Rotary Trail, so effective Monday, December 29, the following areas are open:

  • Rotary Trail from Vedder Park to the Peach Creek Bridge, including the Peach Creek Trail loop
  • Rotary Trail from Lickman Road to Hopedale Road
  • Lickman Parking lot
  • Hopedale Parking lot
  • Crossing Park
  • The dyke section from Keith Wilson Bridge (west side) to the Yarrow Community Centre
