Mondays (excluding stat holidays) until June 12, 10:30 am – 11 am. Introduce kids to the love of books and language with storytime! Children and caregivers will enjoy interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and more. Storytime prepares children to learn to read.

ART33 is a collective of students from School District 33 high schools (Chilliwack, G.W. Graham and Sardis Secondary). It is a favourite annual event at the O'Connor Group Art gallery with the exhibiting student’s friends and family as well as members of the art community.​ The artworks showcased in this exhibition are responses to projects in a variety of courses offered at the high school level as juried by the art teachers during the 2016-2017 school year. Students are encouraged to share their personal taste and experiences through drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, digital art, ceramics, sculpture, animation and fabric arts. For some students, this is a start of a career in the arts. For others, this is a demonstration of their affinity for the arts. The Exhibit runs from May18th to June 17th, and the Reception is on May 18th from 6om to 8pm. Shown in the O'Connor Group Art Gallery, in the Cultural Centre, 9201 Corbould St. from noon until 5pm Wednesday thru Saturday, and on some show nights from 6.30 to 7.30. Admission is free.

Illuminate the imagination with the Chilliwack Community Arts Council and DeLights, a showcase of flavours in light sculptures by Sylvie Roussel-Janssens. On display May 26 to July 7, 2017, this incandescent exhibition will feature window panels and light boxes created with her unique combination of textile and welded wire work. 2 pm – 3 pm. Join the Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society on the first Wednesday of every month. This volunteer organization supports the library through advocacy, fundraising and assistance with various projects and programs. New friends are always welcome! (Please note: the group does not meet in July or August)

7 pm – 8:30 pm. The Chilliwack Uke Club will be hosting free, drop in jam sessions at the Library! Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned expert, no matter your age, if you have an interest in learning the ukulele you’re welcome here! Bring your own, borrow one of the library’s Uke’ n Play kits, or use one provided by the club. This program is in partnership with the Chilliwack Academy of Music. While registration is not required for this program, space is limited. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please note that the club does not meet during July and August.

Healthy aging is important for everyone and it is essential not to forget the health of your brain as well! This workshop encourages participants to actively engage in protecting and maintaining their brain. Learn strategies and set goals for improving the health of your mind, body and spirit. Ann Davis Transition Society is set to convert Chances Chilliwack into the 4th Annual Drive-Thru breakfast once again! We will have over 500 bags full of healthy breakfast items, juice, and hot coffee generously donated by Starbucks in the Salish Plaza! 89.5 The Drive will be live broadcasting on location announcing prizes, and giving shoutouts to our awesome sponsors or donors! Chilliwack Community Policing and the Charitable Firefighters Society will be personally handing out your breakfast along with our staff & volunteers! The drive-thru event is asking for donations for the bag breakfast, which is valued at around $25, for a suggested donation amount of $10.00 or more. Known for its never-ending dessert decadence and musical theatre talent, our Confectioner’s Cabaret is back June 17, this year with a new focus. Secondary Characters is celebrating Canada and all its diversity with a Canada 150 program, featuring an array of local groups that all have connections to SC. This year’s exciting Cabaret line-up includes: The Valley Babes (of Bookman video fame), The Maybelles, Jeff Bodner ‘Essence of Elvis,’ and Ever After Princesses. A Canada 150 program wouldn’t be complete without a little Canadian representation; SC cast members perform songs from home grown musicals Anne of Green Gables and The Drowsy Chaperone, as well as a selection of other well-known favourites. Prostate Cancer Foundation BC is proud to present the 6th Annual Chilliwack Father’s Day Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer, to help celebrate Father’s Day with BC Men and their families.

Every year volunteers come together to raise money to help find a cure and raise awareness for Prostate Cancer. In total we have raised well over 2 million dollars all going towards research, awareness and support for BC men and their families. This event has been held in Metro Vancouver for the past 16 years. This year we are happy to have a similar event right here in Chilliwack for the fourth year. It will be taking place Sunday June 18, 2017. We are hoping to have 200 participants and 50 volunteers. The walk will start at 9:30 AM at the former ASU at the corner of Keith Wilson and Korea Road. It will take place along the beautiful Vedder Rotary Trail returning back to the ASU for entertainment, a free pancake breakfast and lots of prizes. As a sponsor we will include your name on our website http://www.thefathersdayrun.ca/event-details-fraser-valley/ which is also the site where walker/runners can register. We also advertise this event in newspapers, radio stations and TV. If you choose to be a larger sponsor we will also place your logo on our Foundation's website. We will also be looking for walkers, runners and fundraisers, either as singles or as a team to help raise money for this important cause. That is why we are inviting you to come to the O’Connor Group Art Gallery in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, 9201 Corbould Street and see for yourselves when the exhibit is actually on the walls. Enjoy, and be surprised and amazed with the quality and diversity of the talent displayed, from June 29th until August, 5th, Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 12 noon until 5 , and from 6.30 to 7.30 on some theatre evenings before your other show begins. 11 am – 12 pm. Join facilitator Gracie Kelly, Temexw Teachings, as she shares traditional Sto:Lo teachings surrounding the cedar tree, the second greatest resource of the “People of the River”. View a digital story, listen to ancient stories and admire a collection of cedar items. After a demonstration of the art of weaving, you will create your own cedar rose, crafted from bark strips. All materials are provided for this free workshop. This program is open to all ages, children 10 and under are welcome accompanied by an adult.
