| Description: 11 am – 12 pm. Join facilitator Gracie Kelly, Temexw Teachings, as she shares traditional Sto:Lo teachings surrounding the cedar tree, the second greatest resource of the “People of the River”. View a digital story, listen to ancient stories and admire a collection of cedar items. After a demonstration of the art of weaving, you will create your own cedar rose, crafted from bark strips. All materials are provided for this free workshop. This program is open to all ages, children 10 and under are welcome accompanied by an adult. Registration is required, please contact the Chilliwack Library at 604-792-1941 to sign up. |
