This wonderful program will explore the history of song including traditional, folk, pop, rap, & rock to name a few. Each of these 6 sessions will build upon the other. Children will delve into creating a song – by learning song composition and techniques, and tips on how to write lyrics. Children will have the opportunity to perform their song for friends, and family at the end of the session. Ages 7-9 10:45 - 11:45am $48

Your Story - A Memoir Writing Workshop. If you have always wanted to write your story but don't know where to start then this course is for you. Local speaker, author of 'What Men Won't Talk About and Women Need to Know - A woman's perspective on prostate cancer' and co-author of 'Choosing to Smile' will conduct a one day workshop on how to start and finish writing your story. Whether you want to publish or simply share your memories with family and friends this introductory course will get you on the fast track to making it happen. Canvas Kids; Acrylic Painting Series. Instructor: Pat Gerlach. Ages 7-12. 3:30-5:00 Tuesdays, March 4, 11, 25. No class March 18. Details: This series will break down the steps to create interesting and imaginative acrylic paintings. Some of the skills introduced will be composition, creating texture, use of stencils, different ways to paint interesting backgrounds and mixing and blending paints to get the colours to make the most impact. Planning Your New Vegetable Garden Instructor: Jack Kouwenhoven. Date: Saturday March 8. Time: 10:00 - 12:00. Ages: All Ages. Whether it’s a new garden or reclaiming an old one planning a garden involves a lot more than choosing which seeds to plant. Join avid gardener Jack Kouwenhoven in this informative workshop which will cover topics such as site planning, soil preparations, nutrient types, mulches, cover crops, tools, cold frames and other tips to help you design the perfect garden for your space. "Seedy Tuesday".  This is a chance for local sustainable-living enthusiasts to come together, enjoy inspiring conversation, and share/trade seeds for the 2014 growing season. Please bring your own locally grown seeds. We'll have information on starting your seeds at home, and "how to turn a patch of grass into a thriving garden plot". Anyone interested is welcome. This is a free event.

Pinterest Project of the Month - Spring Flower Wreath With Stephanie Brubaker. On the last Wednesday of each month the Art Room hosts an evening class of Pinterest inspires craft projects: Wed. March 26 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Ages 13 - Adult. Using felt fabric and simple sewing techniques students will learn how to create a wreath full of spring blossoms.
