Evacuation Order issued for three homes in Carey Point area of Chilliwack

City of Chilliwack Emergency program officials have issued an evacuation order for three homes in the Carey Point area of Chilliwack.

The river is expected to overtop the berm in this area tonight and there is great concern for the safety of residents living in these three homes.

The order affects 12 people.

We will not be releasing the addresses of the three affected properties for privacy and security reasons.

RCMP will be conducting regular patrols of the affected area

City of Chilliwack Wins Rezoning Court Case

The City of Chilliwack is pleased to announce that the BC Supreme Court has ruled in the municipality’s favour and awarded costs, confirming that the City properly followed the legislated processes rezoning the property known as the Cattermole Lands.
