CHILLIWACK CULTURAL CENTRE
The City of Chilliwack is developing a new Cultural Centre in the heart of downtown Chilliwack. This state-of-the-art cultural facility will include an art gallery, a 500+ seat performance theatre, a 150 seat recital hall/rehearsal space/dance studio/meeting space, music instruction rooms, arts and crafts studios and related amenities. It will be located on City-owned land at The Landing, adjacent to existing sports and recreation facilities and Prospera Centre. Construction is expected to begin in April 2008 with completion in 2010. [Click for more info]

Cheam Centre Renovation
The Cheam Centre Renovation plan is an $9.0 million project to redevelop and upgrade the existing Cheam Centre into a high-quality community recreation destination. Plans include construction of a new six-lane 25 metre pool with change rooms, an administration area, storage rooms, and improvement of existing spaces. [click for more info]

Fire Department's Annual Report

The Chilliwack Fire Department responded to over 2500 calls for service in 2007, an increase of 13% from the previous year. Fire losses for the year totalled $5.6 million and there were 22 fire related injuries and one fire death. Click for more details...
