The Chilliwack Museum and Archives
offers exhibits and community-based art
displays at the Museum, in the beautiful
1912 Beaux-Arts style Chilliwack City
Hall National Historic Site in downtown
Chilliwack, and manages an archival
collection, public records, and a public
research facility, three blocks away at
the Archives at Evergreen Hall.

jewellery, local craft items, and specialty
giftware created using our own archival
images.

T’xwelátse: We Have to
Learn to Live Together in
a Good Way
This exhibit - based on the lesson
by Stone T’xwelátse: an ancient
transformer of the Stó:lō People -
encourages visitors to imagine what the
meeting of different world viewpoints
might have been like as thousands of
newcomers gathered in the Chilliwack
area during the 1858 gold rush.”

Throughout our lives we strive to
take care of our bodies, minds and
souls. Injuries, illnesses and traumas
remind us of our vulnerability, as the
wheel of life turns for us all. This exhibit
presents historic health-related artifacts
which recall the passage of time as
experienced by older and younger
generations alike.

Chilliwack’s Great War at
Home and Overseas
August 4th 2014 marks the 100 year
anniversary of Canada entering World
War I as part of the British Empire. This
exhibit recalls events of the time, and
honours the memory of those from
Chilliwack whose lives were impacted
and changed forever by the war.
