In addition to managing land development, the department also oversees bylaw enforcement and property records. MULTI-FAMILY) 99 NEW LOTS CREATED 102 LAND DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS 42 APPROVED DEVELOPMENTS • Responded to over 20,000 bylaw service requests. • Issued over $200,000 in fines to owners of nuisance and dilapidated vacant homes. • Proactively patrolled over 4,000km on bicycle and foot in the downtown core, parks, trails, and other hot-spot areas. • Over 3,300 complaints received for bylaw violations related to unsightly premises, excessive noise, and on-street parking. • Participated in the Law Enforcement Polar Plunge and raised over $1,000 in support of Special Olympics BC. • Participated in Emergency Services Food Drive alongside Fire Department, Search & Rescue, RCMP and Emergency Support Services raising over $45,000 in support of the Salvation Army. • Donated over 170 toys with a value of over $2,500 to Chilliwack Community Services Christmas Hampers with the Toys for Tickets campaign. • Conducted a Trail Safety Day to promote safety for all users including pedestrians, cyclists, and equestrians.
