Gibson Road Overpass Tunneling Culvert Replacement • Completed 50 metres of auger boring through the overpass to install a new six foot diameter steel culvert, replacing the existing failed five foot diameter culvert. • Improved drainage capacity in the surrounding agricultureal areas. Payne Road Circular Culvert • Installed a 2100mm diameter HDPE steel-reinforced culvert to replace end-of-life infrastructure and increase flow capacity. • Completed road widening at the culvert crossing to improve turning radius and motorist safety. Asphalt Rehabilitation Completed • Poplar Road: full road repaved with added drainage features. • Boundary Road from No. 2 Road to No. 3 Road: full road repaved. • Yale Road from the Breezeway to Nowell Street: half road repaved. • Hocking Avenue from McIntosh Drive to Yale Road: full road repaved. • Southlands Drive from Young Road to Southlands Crescent: full road repaved. • Elk View Road from Bailey Road to Ryder Lake Road: full road repaved with newly constructed retaining wall. • Garden Drive from First Avenue to Charles Street: milled and paved with curb and gutter replacement. • Yale Road from Parr Road to Airport Road: full road repaved, extended left turn bay, and re-aligned lanes. • Prairie Central Road from Banford Road to Gibson Road: full road repaved with geotechnical stabilization. • Young Road from Luckakuck to Prairie Central Road: ҇ reconfigured intersection from a three-way stop to free-flow at Chilliwack River Road and Young Road, with a stop-control on Prairie Central Road. ҇ added bike lanes on Prairie Central Road. 48 125 M WATER MAIN UPGRADES 39 TOILETS REPLACED THROUGH THE TOILET REBATE PROGRAM 6.6% REDUCTION IN PEAK WATER CONSUMPTION DURING STAGE 1 RESTRICTIONS Utilities Division 500 M SEWER MAIN UPGRADES 7 NEW WASTE DISCHARGE PERMITS FOR INDUSTRIAL BUSINESSES 9 WATER CONSERVATION KITS SOLD 13 RAIN BARRELS PURCHASED THROUGH THE RAIN BARREL REBATE PROGRAM Wastewater Source Control • Completed 25 industrial site inspections. • Issued seven waste charge permits and renewed one waste charge permit for food processing, metal fabrication, water bottling, and plastic manufacturing facilities. • Developed non-compliance forms for discharge reporting of industrial and fermentation operations. • Distributed 250+ educational letters to restaurant and food service operators regarding oil and grease interceptor maintenance responsibilities. Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) • Completed the replacement of the 22,000 litre mix tank at the High-Strength Wastewater Pretreatment Facility (HSWWPTF). • Continued pilot scale rotary drum thickener to reduce excess solids from the secondary treatment process, as part of the Sludge Thickener Pilot Project. • Commenced construction for the Phase 2 Project for the Biological Treatment System Expansion with substantial completion scheduled for September 2026. Linear and Nonlinear Projects Completed • Completed flow monitoring at three locations to assess sewer capacity and inform timing of required upgrades. • Completed the pre-design for the relocation of sanitary pump station #4. • Completed a utilities survey, geotechnical investigations and predesigns to support upcoming projects: replacement of a water pressure reducing valve at Sunrise Drive. a new concrete reservoir at Chilliwack Mountain. relocation of sanitary pump station #18. replacement of an existing water reservoir on Marble Hill. Water Conservation • Submitted groundwater license application and started First Nations consultation for irrigation well at Fairfield Park. • Distributed 40 educational letters and two warning letters during the water conservation period. • Completed the Good as Gold Contest where lawns were left to go dormant and golden.
