Yarrow Community School
The new Yarrow Community School
is open for business and we are very
excited to invite everyone to come and
see us. We have a beautiful large gym,
a multi-purpose room-with a courtyard
and kitchen that are available for
rent, not to mention the new outdoor
spaces that are coming together as
we speak. We are very grateful for the
support from the City of Chilliwack and
SD #33, it is due to these successful
partnerships that we are able to offer
programming to our neighbours
and larger community. Please call

Programs
yarrow Men’s basketball
This is new for us! We are looking for
men interested in coming for some
pick-up basketball in our brand new
gym. Age 16+, Thursday evenings
7:30-9:30pm. 10 Sessions for $25./
player. Dec. 6th – Feb. 14th (after you
celebrate Valentines day properly!) We
need a minimum of 10 regular players
signed up to make a go of it and drop in

beginner Sewing
with Dayle- PJ Pants!
Wed. afterschool 2:00-4:00pm.
Intermediate students. Four sessions
starting Wed. Nov. 21st thru to Dec.
12th. So much to do and learn and only
$40. And if you want to purchase the
prepared kit (fabric, elastic, thread etc.)
it’s only an additional $15. Forms are
available at the office. Space is limited
so don’t put this off.
books and a bite
Fridays afterschool 2:00-4:00pm. Nov.
23rd -Dec. 14th. Primary students are
invited to come and join Dayle for an
afternoon with stories and cooking…
’The Gingerbread Boy’, ‘Bread and Jam
for Francis’ ‘The Party’ and ‘Stanley’s
Party’. The kids will share the story
and then cook recipes that reflect the
story’s theme. Space is limited so don’t
hesitate to get your form from the office.
Pilates
Wed. evenings 7pm. in the multi-
purpose room. Bring your own mat
and water bottle. Call Jolene for more

Zumba
Tuesday evenings 7pm. in the multi-
purpose room. Certified Instructor Joan
Koppes promises the steps are easy
to follow, just wear your running shoes
and bring water. Drop in or save money
and pre-pay for 10 sessions. Next
session starts Nov. 20th …Lots of fun!
red Cross babysitter Course
Feb. 15th 9am- 5pm. $45/participant.
There are limited spaces for this
popular course for boys and girls age
11 and up. The registration forms are
available at the school . The budding
entrepreneur might want to get some
certification before handing out their
business cards!
boys ball hockey League
Boys born in 2005-2008 are eligible
to play. January 12-March 9th Sat.
mornings 9am-10am. $40./player
and only $20 for the second player in
the same family. Registration forms
available at the school.
Christmas Games, Food and Crafts
Its an ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’
Party for kids in grades 3-6. Saturday
December 15th 2 - 4:30. The $20
registration includes a gift to make and
take and there will be prizes for the
UGLIEST SWEATER! Forms at Sally’s
office.
Dayle’s Movie and a Meal
Saturday, Dec. 1st 4:30-8:30. We are
going to put the new movie ‘BRAVE’ on
the big screen after we have enjoyed
making and eating our supper together.
The cost is only $15. This one fills up
fast so don’t wait to grab your form.
February will be when we host our
Community School Society Annual
General Meeting- Watch for further
details so you can come and share
your ideas for our beautiful new
facility.
