Fall is one of my favourite times of the year. I especially enjoy running through our local parks and trails;
the changing leaves and crisp fall air add something special to my regular workout. If you haven’t yet
explored our many parks and trails, I encourage you to get outdoors and enjoy all it has to offer.
Within our Fall 2013 Leisure Guide you will find excellent information about both outdoor and indoor
recreational activities that will help you stay active and healthy. This is a busy time of year with schedules
returning to normal after summer vacations and with children returning to school, but it’s the perfect time
to get your fitness goals back on track. I encourage you to use the Leisure Guide to find new activities that
will help meet your unique health and fitness goals.
Partnerships are another element that makes our community special. This guide is the result of
partnerships between the City of Chilliwack, the Association of Community Programmers and School
District No. 33, who assist in the support of the Community School Associations. Each contributor to the
Leisure Guide brings with them an expertise that collectively addresses the needs and interests of the
residents of our community. Likewise, many of our facilities are operated by an independent contractor
with the expertise and knowledge best suited for daily operations. They help shape the recreational
programming we all enjoy.
On behalf of Chilliwack City Council, I encourage you to take a moment to read through this guide, see what it has to offer and take
advantage of all the amazing ways you can get involved. Don’t forget to visit us online at www.chilliwack.com for updates on projects,
