| Industrial Fire | August 10, 2017 |
At approximately 4:00am on August 10th, 2017 the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire located in the 8000 block of Brannick Place. Firefighters responded from Halls 1 and 4 and upon arrival, discovered approximately 300 wood pallets fully involved inside a fenced site and in close proximity to an industrial building. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack, knocked down the fire and protected the nearby exposures. The industrial building suffered heat damage to the exterior of the building due to the intensity of the fire. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. This fire appears to be deliberately set and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
