Chilliwack Mounties on the run for Special Olympics June 3, 2016

Chilliwack: Robert LeComte, of Chilliwack Victim Services, and Alain Castonguay, of Chilliwack RCMP, set the pace as the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics BC arrived at the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre (PRTC) on Tuesday.

On May 31, 2016 RCMP officers and staff from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment (UFVRD), PRTC, and Vancouver Police Department, together with runners from the City of Chilliwack, Special Olympic athletes and supporters participated in the three kilometer route that started at Sardis Senior Secondary and finished at the RCMP training facility.

Held in conjunction with other police agencies across the Lower Mainland the LETR raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes in British Columbia.

“This year over 100 folks took part in the event by either running or walking. The Chilliwack RCMP proudly supports Special Olympics and their athletes,” said Cpl. Mike Rail Media Relations Officer for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment.
