Community Ride with Mayor and Council

The ride takes place on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Join the group wherever is most convenient for you, here are the routes:

North Side Bike Route – Led by Mayor Popove:

1. Start at Gwynne Vaughan Park (10033 Williams Road) at 7:15 am
2. Travel south on Williams Road to Hope River Road
3. Turn left and travel east on Hope River Road to Menzies Street
4. Turn right and travel south on Menzies Street to Yale Road
5. Turn right and travel west on Yale Road to Broadway
6. Turn left and travel south on Broadway to Darlene Avenue
7. Turn right and travel west on Darlene Avenue to Parker Park
8. Stop at meet up spot: Parker Park (46510 Darlene Ave) at 7:30 am
9. Travel east on Darlene Avenue to Broadway
10. Turn right and travel south on Broadway to Chilliwack Central Road
11. Turn right and travel west on Chilliwack Central Road to Young Road
12. Turn right and travel north on Young Road to the FVRD
13. Arrive at FVRD Celebration Station (45950 Cheam Avenue) at 7:45 am

South Side Bike Route – Led by Councillor Lum:


1. Start at Sardis Secondary School (45460 Stevenson Road) at 7:15 am
2. Travel east on Stevenson Road to Wiltshire Street
3. Turn left and travel north on Wiltshire Street to Spruce Drive
4. Turn right and travel east on Spruce Drive/Britton Avenue to Sheffield Way
5. Turn left and travel north on Sheffield Way to the Sheffield Dog Off Leash Area
6. Stop at meet up spot: Sheffield Dog Off Leash Area (7215 Sheffield Way) at 7:30am
7.Travel north on the Valley Rail Trail, turning left near Luckakuck Way to access the Hwy 1   overpass and continue on the Rail Trail to Airport Road
8. Turn right and travel east on Airport Road to Young Road
9. Turn left and travel north on Young Road to the FVRD
10. Arrive at FVRD Celebration Station (45950 Cheam Avenue) at 7:45 am

The Community Rides on Tuesday, May 28 will conclude at the Celebration Station, open from 7:30-9 am in the FVRD parking lot (45950 Cheam Avenue), co-hosted by the FVRD and the City of Chilliwack, with bike assistance provided by PedalSport, and anti-theft registration with 529 Garage.

There will also be food and raffle prizes, with breakfast sandwiches cooked up by the Chilliwack Fire Department, fruit donated by Produce Gone Wild, donuts from Circle Square Doughnuts and coffee from Clearbrook Coffee.

Don’t forget to enter the City of Chilliwack's Green Commuter Challenge bike draw for a chance to a win a medium Trek Dual Sport 1 donated by Vedder Mountain Bike Co. and the City.
