Tag-a-Bag Stickers

Purple tags for garbage and green tags for yard waste have been in effect since May 1, 2017.

Note: Residents can place up to 10 paper bags of yard waste or bundles of branches at the curb for collection, in addition to your Green Cart, every week without requiring Tag-a-Bag stickers. This service continues year-round.


Q: How much do the current tags cost?

A: Current tag prices are as follows:

Yard Waste $1.75 each
Garbage $2.00 each

Q: Why aren’t garbage stickers and yard waste stickers the same price?

A: A garbage sticker has a maximum weight of 25 kg (for the extra container or bag) while the yard waste sticker has a maximum weight limit of 15 kg.

Q: How do I use the stickers?

A: Garbage Tag-a-Bag stickers are tagged onto extra bags or containers of garbage, and yard waste stickers are tagged onto paper bags/bunldes of yard waste.

Q: Under what conditions areTag-a-Bag stickers required on additional yard waste that cannot fit in the Green Cart?

A: You will have to use a Tag-a-Bag sticker if you have more than 10 additional yard waste bags/bundles at the curb. 

Q: Can I use the garbage Tag-a-Bag sticker on a bag of yard waste?

A: No. A yard waste sticker is required.
