RCMP Traffic Section - Chilliwack
The Chilliwack RCMP Traffic Section is made up of five members and is responsible for targeting and enforcing driver behaviour at high crash locations; patrolling twenty three school zones within the City of Chilliwack; responding to serious motor vehicle collisions, responding to traffic related complaints, and assisting other general duty detachment members.
The Traffic Section is proactively engaged in monitoring driver behaviour at high crash locations with the help of Speed Watch, which is a volunteer community group designed to raise driver awareness on their travelling speeds.
The RCMP, Speed Watch and Safer City work together regularly conducting 3-Strikes projects to slow down motorists displaying aggressive driving behaviours; as well as conduct a number of other local Safer City road safety initiatives within the City.
