Please note the City of Chilliwack encourages and supports community involvement but reserves the right to decline any program/event that does not meet the criteria as outlined below, or that is not consistent with values of the community as reflected by the policies and opinions expressed by City Council.

Please find listed the City of Chilliwack’s criteria for approving events on the webpage.

1. All events must be open to the community.

2. The City cannot endorse one business over another; therefore, the event cannot benefit any business for financial gain.

3. Business Related Exceptions:

    • The event is held at a City facility i.e., Heritage Park, Twin Rinks, Leisure Centre, Chilliwack Cultural Centre or Prospera Centre.
    • The event is for fundraising for a not-for-profit organization and a business is being used as a venue/location for fundraising activities.

4. The event must be within the City of Chilliwack boundaries. If you are unclear as to whether your location is within Chilliwack boundaries, you can visit this map page or call 604.792.9311.

If your event is for financial gain, we would like to direct you to Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO).  It is CEPCO’s purpose to facilitate and encourage business in our community and this may be the appropriate organization to contact for your event.

You may find that your event expectations are more tourism related, therefore, we would like to encourage you to visit Tourism Chilliwack.

Description: When: The 2nd and 4th Saturday of July (14th and 28th ) August (11th and 25th), September (8th and 22nd) as well as Oct 13th 2012 from 1pm - 3pm. Who: Everyone is welcome! Drop in with your excess fruit/vegetable harvest and trade with other gardening enthusiasts and/or drop off your Plant a Row Grow a Row donation for washing and weighing. Where: The Sunshine Community Garden,behind the Mathieson Centre at 45195 Wells Road, Chilliwack, B.C. Why: Because we value quality, homegrown produce and want to provide an opportunity for locals to fill the gaps of the things they didn’t plant, as well as not waste the excess of the produce they did. We will also be collecting, washing, weighing and recording the data of the Plant a Row Grow a Row donations. The produce donated will be picked up by the Salvation Army at the end of each drop off.
